Well-known local restaurateurs Bruno and Luca first opened Expo in 2004 with the aim of rediscovering the ancient flavours of the region and giving them an innovative modern twist. And in the past decade they have done just that, providing locals and tourists alike with a reasonably priced gourmet experience right in the heart of Trieste. Despite the formal décor, the restaurant exudes a warm convivial air, with ample space left around the bar for socialising over a glass of wine or cocktail. It's also possible to purchase takeaway bottles of local Karst olive oil and honey, as well as traditional Triestine sweets.
