During the whole existence of the Soviet Union regime Ukrainian people endured horrible tragedies - famines of 1921-1922, 1932-1933, 1946-1947, which took millions of Ukrainian's lives. The worst humanitarian catastrophe of 20th century for Ukraine was an artificially engineered by Stalin's regime Famine of 1932-1933, during which 3 941 000 people died. Museum is dedicated to the victims of these awful tragedies. Excursions are held every hour from 10:00.

Amazing place. I was lucky with interpreter though, because she is very intelligent and girl and the time with her and the way how she explained all in details made this trip the best in my life, though I have been to 32 countries and have seen lot's of museams I had the best impression in Kiev,Ukraine

Having visited this museum, and being very enlightened by its holdings, I am surprised that it is hard to find on the web. I can understand when pro-Russian governments were in power, but now? The world should really understand what the Russians did to the Ukrainians in the 1930's and how brutal they were. It was a Holocaust on a much more vicious, drawn-out scale.
