In the tiny village of Ravna Romanija lies the medieval St George Monastery, another jewel in the crown of the Serbian Orthodox church. There is a memorial tinge to the place that defers from the norm, with the names of fallen soldiers taking pride of place over frescoes and religious art. The church within still works today, so bring respectful clothing and plenty of manners.
