For the absolute best view of this beautiful city, conquer the 572 steps of the Cascade. You’ll be breathing the big ones by the time you reach the top of this massive limestone staircase but the vistas are worth every piece of spluttering and swearing you’ll do on the way up. The garden at the foot of the staircase is full of beautiful flora and some impressive statues, a collection of caps doffed to important individuals from the city’s 2800+ years. The interior of the staircase is also home to a number of exhibition halls, but it is the unobstructed views of Mount Ararat and central Yerevan that steal the show.
