Durdin
Beer hall Durdin has five original home brews on tap, and luckily they're available in a taster of five small glasses for the price of a regular 0.5L glass. Served with grenki (deep-fried bread with garlic), this is the perfect start to any beer drinking adventure. Those watching their ch [...]

GlavPivTorg
This restaurant, located not far from the former KGB headquarters, Lyubanka, cannot fail to impress, and not only because of the bank-style interior with green lamps and the possibility to eat some long forgotten Soviet-style snacks with your beer. Rumour has it that in this building, former part of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was signed. If this is of no interest to you, there is still lots to offer, with good food, and of course good local brews. In the evenings there is live music and dancing! For more privacy, head upstairs.

Kolbasoff
This chain of kolbasi (sausages) won’t let hungry and thirsty people down. Offering eight different kinds of sausage dishes, vegetarian beer lovers would do well to stay away from here. For the rest of the carnivore world, Kolbassof is a merry beer restaurant chain with eight locations around Moscow.  There are super big portions for couples or groups of 4. Gulp everything down with the home brewed Kolbassa beer. [...]

If the lengthy queues are anything to go by, you will need to show up early or book to avoid disappointment. The house draft beer is not only affordable but drinkable. Indeed, the arm muscles of the staff must be quite sizable to carry platters heaving with spiced meats and other Czech specialities. Enormous portions of sausages, pigs ears, whole chickens and assorted beef dishes make for satisfied stomachs and wallets.

Pivo Vody
Some kind of factory mashed together with a beer cellar and with some 70s disco lighting and music thrown in for good measure. This place really isn’t sure what it is, aside from being as its title suggests, somewhere that specialises in pivo (beer). It has to be said that the price – quality ratio for their dishes to soak up the beer such as schnitzel, tafelspitz and pork legs are very reasonable. Originally starting out as restaurant, this place is getting closer and closer to becoming a pub, especially with the addition of  the Sunday night expat comedy theatre.

A bit far out of the centre, this place is not really worth making a trek to unless you will be around the area anyway. Having said that as far as Czech restaurants go it's not bad. The portions are of course massive, the house brews are very good and don't cost the earth and the place itself is bi [...]

This German beer restaurant, behind the Evropeisky Shopping Centre, is an extremely warm and relaxing den with wood-paneled walls covered in Bavarian pennants. There's two halls; the main hall, with rows of tables, and a smaller hall  for quieter chats. Beers served here are mainly G [...]

William Bass
An immediate trip back to Ye Olde England except for the Russian waitresses. This two storey classic English pub actually pulls it off. It's full of nooks and crannies, spread out over two floors. There's a grand spiral staircase in the centre and lots of space giving the feeling of being in a grand country mansion. This wonderful atmosphere is reflected in the prices. The range of beer specialises in English ales and classic European brews and the menu is filled with tantalsing superior pub grub. You can even stow the kids in the second floor play room while you neck a couple. [...]
