After Olbia Porto Torres is the best served port in Sardinia. Tirrenia ferries link you to Genoa: the crossing takes 11hrs 30mins and runs daily all year round. Grandi Navi Veloci runs alternate days from 30 May to 13 September. Grimaldi Lines runs from 15 April to 5 October twice a week to Civitavecchia (7hrs 15mins) and Barcelona (11hrs 15mins). From June to August there are up to 5 crossings a week.
The French companies La Méridionale and SNCM offer crossings to Ajaccio (3hrs 30 mins) and Propriano (4hrs), in Corsica, and to Marseille (17hrs).
Apart from variations imposed by the weather conditions, the ferries to and from Genoa stop at the City Port (porto civico), next to the town centre, the others go to the Industrial Port (porto industriale), 1.5km to the west and linked to via Mare by a free shuttle service calling at the Ferry Terminal (Stazione Marittima).
