Romanian Seaside

more than a year ago

It’s summer, and you want to have a taste of that wonderful Romanian seaside you’ve heard so much about. But a quick google search shows countless options for resorts, accommodation, activities and more. So you’re overwhelmed. Worry not, for we are here to help you out with some information. And if the seaside is not your cup of tea, maybe check out our other recomandations for this summer in Romania.

Let’s start with why here:

The temperate climate, the water with low salinity and the orientation of the beach to the east create excellent conditions for spending a summer vacation in the best conditions on the Romanian coast. The beaches on the Romanian coast are covered with fine sand and have a generous width that reaches in some places 150-200 meters. However, there is a noticeable difference between the beaches in the north of the coast (Navodari, Mamaia, Constanta) and the beaches in the south. The northern ones are wider and keep a uniform shoreline, while the sandy stretches of the southern coast have many narrower sectors, are furrowed by bays or bordered by high cliffs. On the Romanian coast the sun shines about 2,500 hours a year, average identical to that of the beaches in Croatia and very similar to that of the Mediterranean coasts.

But where?

The Romanian seaside offers multiple accommodation options. Tourists have at their disposal over 250,000 accommodation places in hotels, villas and agrotourism pensions in the 12 seaside resorts: Navodari, Mamaia, Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, Techirghiol, Costinesti, Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Cap Aurora, Venus, Saturn, Mangalia, to which are added May 2 and Vama Veche, but unofficially.

On top of that, literally, there are 5 “wild” beaches in the north of the Black Sea, where you can find peace and freedom. Beach Vadu, Corbu, Sulina, Tuzla, and Gura Portiței. These are mostly former fishing villages, where you can find accommodation, and cheap, good food (caught by the fishermen in the area in that day).

And what can you do there?

On the seaside there are plenty of fun and leisure opportunities that cover the preferences and demands of all tourists who spend their holidays here. In recent years, along the coast have developed many restaurants and terraces arranged on the beach or in its immediate vicinity, offering tourists the opportunity to relax in a cheerful holiday atmosphere and enjoy Romanian dishes, international or fishing. Also, the Romanian seaside offers possibilities to practice all water sports, each resort having modern leisure facilities. The seaside leisure options are complemented by tennis, football and golf courses, amusement parks and amusement centers that are common in resorts. The entertainment possibilities are completed by the recent tourist constructions in Mamaia resort, among which we mention the most important ones: Aqua Magic and Telegondola.

Not only the wide and sunny beaches, the accommodation opportunities and the leisure possibilities make the Romanian seaside attractive! In the area there are a lot of sights and tourist attractions that are worth visiting.
