Dublin

Stags & Hens

share

Dublin is a mecca for Stag and Hen parties, and why wouldn’t it be? The city's reputation as a young, fun-loving capital is surely too tempting to resist. And with eating, sleeping and entertainment options all within easy walking distance, your pre-wedding weekend is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression (and a fair few hazy memories).

Temple Bar is universally considered the epicentre of those prenuptial celebrations. There is a bevy of large bars and nightclubs vying for your custom, so expect plenty of room for the traditional oversized hats, ties and boobs. The cobblestone streets are always laden with party people out to have a good time, especially in the summer months and at weekends. Before heading to your watering hole of choice, indulge in food from traditional Irish fare to Cajun, Mongolian or Indian - our Restaurant listings have them all. And, as always, remember to drink sensibly, stay together and plan your journey back to base.

For more sedate daytime entertainment take your pick. There’s shopping for the ladies, (and for the fashion conscious boys too). Take a tour of theGuinness Storehouse or Jameson Distillery. And, elsewhere, you can get active with golf, paintball games, kart racing or, a little further afield, clay pigeon shooting, archery or even zorbing (rolling downhill in a giant plastic ball). Keep an eye on our Stags & Hens section for lots more ideas.

With all the shopping, partying and outdoor pursuits some relaxation could be in order. So may we suggest you treat yourself and your friends to some pampering at the city’s best spas and beauty salons. Nue Blu Ireu on South William Street (www.neubluireu.com), Urban Wax at Suffolk Street (www.urbanwax.com) and FLOAT in Ranelagh (www.float.ie) are just three of our faves. And don't forget to check out your hotel for some in-house beauty indulgences.

It's a big ask to fit all this fun into one weekend, so you might want to stay for the week...
