Festival: Berlin Pride & CSD Parade

07 Aug 2025
An integral part of the Berlin calendar that comes with many different names but one very clear message. Berlin Pride (also known as Christopher Street Day, or CSD Berlin) has grown significantly since it was first held back in 1972 to the point where it is now one of the largest Pride events on the planet, with around half a million taking part in a truly joyous celebration. The old apartment of famous gay English expat Isherwood is the beating heart of the festival, an old Nollendorfstraße apartment in Schöneberg from where Isherwood penned his famous ‘Berlin Stories’.

The parade begins at midday on July 27 at the Joachimsthaler corner of Kurfürstendamm (close to the eponymous metro station), taking an ambling route around the city before making it to Brandenburg Gate a few hours later. There is more to the event than the walk though, so do keep an eye on the official website for the full program and a whole lot more. Everybody is welcome, as it should be.
