Pobiedziska Stronghold

  Ul. Fabryczna      (+48) 601 37 78 02     20 May 2026
Pobiedziska Stronghold is one of those rare historical attractions where visitors are actively encouraged to ignore the instinct to keep their hands behind their backs. This reconstructed early medieval fortress offers a lively, hands-on journey into the beginnings of the Polish state, complete with towering wooden ramparts, full-scale siege machines and enough opportunities for supervised mayhem to keep younger visitors thoroughly entertained.

Forget the usual museum routine of glass cabinets and stern glances. Here, children (and competitive adults) can fire miniature catapults, test their aim with bows, axes and javelins, or try operating mighty trebuchets and stone-throwers once used on medieval battlefields. Foam-sword duels in the battle arena settle questions of honour, while climbing areas, games and even wooden horse-riding tracks keep energy levels high.

The atmosphere owes much to the friendly cast of reenactors who bring the place to life with humour, demonstrations and a healthy enthusiasm for history. Part open-air museum, part adventure playground and part medieval boot camp, Pobiedziska Stronghold manages to make learning about the past feel suspiciously like having a very good time.
