We are card-carrying members of the international donkey fan club here at In Your Pocket, and we’re always happy to see recognition for the majestic beast. The humble donkey has played a massive role in life on the island over the centuries, and this monument on the seafront in Jelsa is a silent nod of respect in its direction. The statue was made by Ivan Škrmeta, a self-taught sculptor from Poljica.
