The fabulous Fjori Fora Garden outside Gdinj could fit into numerous categories in this guide. It is very much an attraction, a sight to see, a beautiful oasis of plantlife that sprawls around the outskirts of the village with confidence and character. There are all sorts of plants here, from the medicinal to the poisonous, via cosmetics, diet, and aesthetics, and a tour of them all is a tremendous way to get closer to Hvar’s relationship with nature. The very best way? That’ll be the guided tasting tour, a 90-minute extravaganza that tells a story of plants from field to fork and beyond. The tour includes a herbal plate, many tastings, and more information than you can shake that proverbial stick at. You might even get to take a photo of yourself as the driver of a floral old-timer, which is pretty darn awesome. Tours can be organised via the garden’s website, where you can also pick up products and gift packs.
