Located in a charming woodland just outside Vrboska are the remains of Kaštilac, a 16th-century watchtower that serves up views as enchanting as you’d expect from a watchtower. That’s the point, right? Kaštilac was constructed as the island looked to fortify its defences against invaders, and its thick walls are testament to that commitment. Today, the watchtower is a popular attraction for walkers and cyclists and is a relatively easy 20-minute walk from the very centre of Vrboska. You might work up a sweat, but the views make it all worthwhile.
