As you wander along the edge of the waters in Jelsa, a curious sculpture might catch your eye. It isn’t until you approach that you realise this is an interpretation of a seagull, that most prevalent of coastal birds. Created by Josip Grgevčić, the bronze sculpture is another example of Jelsa’s deep respect for the world surrounding it. Of course, we won’t mention the whole “there’s no such thing as a seagull, only gull” thing, because the art is too delightful.
