The lazy seaside walk from Jelsa to Vrboska is one of the island’s most enjoyable experiences, and the entire thing is enhanced once you arrive at your destination. A small village of around 550 people, Vrboska packs quite a punch. The twin churches above the town provide a gorgeous frame, but the charms of the centre shine brightest, from the fantastic Fisherman’s Museum to the calming island with its distinctive palm tree. Yes, an island with a palm tree in the centre of a tiny Dalmatian village. Why not? One of the most picturesque villages on the island (no mean feat), no trip to Hvar is complete without a morning spent in Vrboska.
