Axelle Fanyo, a talented young French soprano, not only brings her characters to life with effortless grace but also narrates their stories with the depth and warmth of a seasoned storyteller. In her uniquely personal recital, Fanyo is set to perform pieces by Arnold Schoenberg and Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer William Bolcom. She will culminate the event with selections from cabaret legend Kurt Weill, and the poignant negro spiritual "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child," paying homage to women of African descent.
