Pharoah Sanders is an American saxophonist and jazz composer, known for his rich solo career and collaboration with John Coltrane and other jazz musicians. His was also one of the Grammy award winners for the album "Blues for Coltrane: A Tribute to John Coltrane". Pharoah Sanders has one of the most characteristic tenor saxophone sounds in jazz. His music likes to expand the links of soul, bepop, jazz-rock, jazz avant-garde, and world music - including African and Indian. Ornette Coleman has said that Sanders is "probably the best tenor saxophonist in the world."
