Kraków

Located in the Płaszów district, about 5km southeast from the market square, this artificial reservoir is the most popular swimming, sailing, sunbathing and recreation destination within city limits. Bagry features several beaches and a bathing area (lifeguards on duty at the main beach daily from roughly July 1 to end of August, 10:00-18:00) where you can take a free dip in the regularly monitored and certified clean water. The site of much recent investment, the surrounding park features a children's playground, barbecue grills, benches, hammocks, volleyball courts, proper toilets (praise be) and a seasonal food truck park at the main beach on the northern shore.

Bagry has long harboured two marinas and two sailing schools which gives you an idea of its size; windsurfing, wakeboarding, kayaks, pedal boats and SUP board rental is available June to end of September.

A second, smaller beach can also be found in the southeast corner near the Peron Bagry restaurant - honestly, our favourite place to hang out in the area.

Getting to Bagry

Not the easiest place to get to, but worth the trip, the best way is probably by taxi, but bus 127 also goes straight there. Alternatively, take tram 20, getting off at 'Rzebika' from which the lake is a 15min walk; you can also catch bus 127 from 'Rzebika' if you don't want to walk the last leg.
