On the ground floor of the crumbling Forum Hotel, find an indoor food hall, multi-tap bar, arcade, billiards, bowling, shuffleboard and a sea of lawn chairs overlooking the river.

What makes Forum’s latest incarnation unique from its previous attempts is the more family-friendly atmosphere, and effort to make it a year-round attraction with an impressive array of bar games and amusements. There’s now an iridescent game room with over 60 retro-style games, plus 10 brand-new billiard tables, three beautiful shuffleboard tables (something we’ve never seen in PL before), darts, and even 14 shiny bowling lanes in the basement. The prices aren’t cheap, so check out their weekly promotions to score a discount. Occasional live music adds to the atmosphere, which has generally shifted the crowd away from biceps and botox towards families, students and date nights, while doing nothing to dent its popularity. For tourists it’s almost obligatory, and the quality of the food, plus plenty of entertainment, makes it worth the trip over the river.
