Art Work / Meno darbas
Thursday Apr 18 - Saturday Apr 20
This time Nida Art Colony temporary project space ‘Kioskas’ will be turned into an Open Studio space. NAC residents Marion Blume, Christine Cheung, and Christina Smiros will work there interchangeably and allow viewers to witness their artistic practices.
An artist's work does not come out of nowhere - it is based on an intense process, which sometimes may become even more important than the outcome itself. While the audience appreciates the final result, it is not aware of such most intimate and complex moments. Artists-in-residence of April would like to share openly exactly this. They will occupy the project space situated at the main street of Nida and share the work it takes to finish an artwork.
Everyone interested specially and the passers-by are invited to come in, ask questions, open up a dialogue or just observe.
Marion Blume (DE) will be carving apple seeds from an apple tree branch she brought from her parent's garden in Munich, Germany.
Christine Cheung (CA) will be creating private and public drawings with the public using sand, salt and other various materials. By the end of the ‘Art Work’ project, she will make an installation out of sand.
Christina Smiros (US) will be editing a series of video and film works and will project her computer screen onto the back wall of ‘Kiosk’ while doing so.
