Palanga

Palanga In Your Pocket

share
A year-round health resort thanks to its relatively mild coastal climate, for a few short months between June and September each year the seaside town of Palanga transforms into a non-stop party destination for the cream of Lithuania’s hedonists, beer drinkers and extroverts. Once a sleepy fishing village and not so long ago a former playground of the Soviet nomenklatura, today’s Palanga offers long sandy beaches, kebabs wrapped in tin foil and a small handful of interesting cultural places to visit for those looking for something a little more highbrow than gulping down litres of lager and whistling at women in bikinis. Here’s what you need to know.
