Just off the market square, this free museum/gallery/shop displays exquisite pieces of amber art, special pieces with unique inclusions, plus permanent exhibits about amber's origin and history as part of Polish culture. Inside you'll learn why and how amber has earned its status as a precious stone, come to appreciate its many forms and colours, and see displays of ancient and modern amber art.
In addition to the exhibits, the Amber Museum includes a laboratory with a spectroscope where you can test the purity of different samples or even bring your own amber to test and get officially certified. There's also the Boruni Gallery flagship shop selling contemporary amber jewellery and timeless products and designs from top Polish and Lithuanian producers; you can also order online via ambershop.pl.
