Named after the protagonist of Lermontov’s ‘The Hero of Our Time’ and with drinks inspired by the beloved literary masterpiece, this new concept bar is a classic Petersburg glass-bottle cross modern bar blend. The menu offers classic tinctures, distillates and liqueur cocktails served chilled, with a range of fish and meat zakuski (snacks) such as tomato sauced sprat on rye, and oxtail-pork leg aspic as accompaniment. When visiting, be sure to taste the seasonal Siberian Penicillin: a homemade tincture on horseradish, lemon and honey pollen syrup with fruity hints, or the fiery nod to drinking traditions of the North, the Water of Life: grain akvavit, amaro, grapefruit juice, spice and soda.
