In Slovenia there's no better place for visitors to try traditional cuisine or experience authentic rural life than at a tourist farm, and while the area around Velenje has but only one of these farms, Tuševo is a fine option for lunch or an early dinner. Located in the hills east of Velenje, the farmhouse is surrounded by meadows, pastures and forests. Of all the traditional dishes, mushroom soup takes pride of place on the menu, while you can always expect to find homemade bread, freshly squeeze juices and cider as well. As an added treat, the younger members of the family are known to sometimes serenade guests with traditional Slovene music.
