How to get to Veliky Novgorod

The train station and bus station are located next to each other in the western part of the city. To get to the centre from the station take bus №4, 7, 7а, 8а, 9, 20, 33, 101 (bus stop is on Oktyabrskaya ul.) or alternatively you can walk down Voskresensky bul. (it will take about 20 minutes).

Getting there from St. Petersburg:
There are several trains a day travelling to Veliky Novgorod in around three hours.
From St. Petersburg’s Moskovsky station (metro Pl. Vosstaniya) trains depart daily at 07:26, 19:32 (Lastochka express) and also at 07:55 (Sat, Sun).
From Vitebsky station (metro Pushkinskaya) trains depart at 07:45 (Wed, Sat, Sun) and at 19:49 (Fri).
Trains from Veliky Novgorod to St. Petersburg depart at 06:10, 18:06 to Moskovsky station and at 18:15 (Wed) and 11:28 (Wed, Thu, Sat, Sun) to Vitebsky station.
In addition there are also numerous buses (journey time approx 3,5 hours) a day leaving from the bus station at Nab. Obvodnogo kan. 36.
Buses to St. Petersburg run hourly until 23:00. The journey takes around 3,5 hours and costs 450Rbl.

Getting there from Moscow:
There is one daily train to Moscow which takes approximately 9 hours and travels over night. It departs at 21:55 from Leningradsky station (metro Komsomolskaya). The return train departs at 21:20.
