This exhibit juxtaposes and creates a fascinating artistic dialogue between the work of Wanda Gołkowska (1925–2013) and Marlena Kudlicka (b. 1973) - two artists who never came into direct contact as artists. Through this juxtaposition we see that these two female Polish artists of separate generations have much common ground, but also distinct differences. The elder Gołkowska was one of the first students of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław, and primarily lived and worked in the city. Over the course of her career she gradually moved away from traditional painting towards spatial forms and conceptual art, treating painting and drawing instead as a field of experimentation. Kudlicka, meanwhile, is a conceptual artist most associated with the city of Berlin (though she studied in Poznań). The design of their joint exhibit in Wrocław takes into account the uniqueness of the museum space, making it an experience which could not be had anywhere else.
