Bani Abidi is no ordinary filmmaker, far from it. The Karachi-born artist seeks inspiration from the gallows wackiness of everyday life, a theme explored in this delightful exhibition. ‘They Died Laughing’ is an extremely apt title for it, as the iconic Gropius Bau presents Abidi’s work from beginning to end. You’ll laugh without  being entirely sure whether or not it is okay, but that is exactly what life is about. The exhibition is about as extensive as it gets too, so don’t miss out on this one.
