DIYP: What is your favourite place to drink coffee or go out at night?
Kristina:
Considering the time of year, Dubrovnik has a different rhythm of life, therefore the summer rhythm is quite different from the winter one. I love Stradun and the Dubrovnik Walls in winter and early spring, and my favourite place is Pupica - an unpretentious little shop inside the walls with fine homemade cakes and great coffee. During summer, I am restricted mainly to ‘having coffee on the go’, just like most of my fellow citizens who work during the season. :-)

DIYP: What is your favourite place to relax in Dubrovnik?
Kristina:
LOKRUM, in capital letters, because it really deserves it.

DIYP: What is the best way to discover the city? Which activities do you recommend?
Kristina:
Although not too popular, I think that walking is the best way to see the city from all sides, it enables you to breathe in that part of life; you notice the people and life around you. And I do not only mean the old part of town, but also the rest of the city, especially Boninovo, Kono, and a stroll to St. James. The scenes you get to see by walking these hidden streets tend to be embedded deeply in one’s memory, along with the scent of flowers from the surrounding gardens.

DIYP: Where is the most ideal place to shop? What do you recommend as a souvenir from Dubrovnik?
Kristina:
Well, unfortunately, Dubrovnik isn’t exactly the greatest place for shopping, with the exception of Maria Store, which is a shop of designer clothes that can stand side by side with the finest Parisian stores. The city is full of souvenir shops, but they are not the best souvenirs which would leave a lasting memory of your stay in Dubrovnik. I personally recommend paintings of beautiful Mediterranean colours by painters such as Antonija Rusković and Romana Milutin Fabris, these are a good choice. And, the wonderfully made cookbook by Anamarija Bujić ‘What's cooking in Dubrovnik.’

DIYP: Which of the local specialties do you recommend as a "must-try" for visitors?
Kristina:
Ston Oysters, good Pelješac wine, Konavle green pasta, there is a lot more…
