Dubrovnik

DIYP: Where is your favourite place to drink coffee or go out at night?
Robert:
My favourite place to go to is Glam Cafe, any time. It is equally attractive to locals and tourists; with great coffee and a wide selection of craft beer.

DIYP: Where is your favourite place to relax in Dubrovnik?
Robert:
The Island of Lokrum would be my choice. 15 minutes by boat, you can get away from the rush and feel one with nature. Peacocks and rabbits are a favourite with the kids and adults can enjoy the restaurants, bars, or just relax on the beach.

DIYP: What is the best way to discover the city? Which activities do you recommend?
Robert:
For me, the best way of getting to know the city is by exploring its streets, preferably earlier in the morning when it’s not so crowded. It is also interesting to get a guide who can tell you something about the history but also about the recent set locations for Game of Thrones and Star Wars.

DIYP: Where is the most ideal place to shop? What do you recommend as a souvenir from Dubrovnik?
Robert:
There are several popular shopping areas with branded items, outside the Old City, but I prefer to buy from small shops within the City walls, and support local trade. I would recommend visiting places like antique shop “Moje Tezoro”, offering pieces of history to take with you; jewellery shop “Dubrovnik Treasures” with handmade silver, coral, and semiprecious treats; or even stop by D’Vino wine bar and get a couple of bottles to go.

DIYP: Which of the local specialities do you recommend as a “must-try” for visitors?
Robert:
Among the many Dubrovnik specialities, my favourite ones are served at restaurant Dalmatino Dubrovnik. If I would have to choose just one, I would pick VEAL SKEWERS with porcini risotto.
