Owińska pedestrian and bicycle footbridge

  Owińska     02 Jun 2026
Stretching across the Warta River on the site of a historic ferry crossing that existed from the 13th century until the 1940s, the Owińska Footbridge adds a modern twist to a route that has connected local communities since medieval times. Measuring almost 200 metres including its approach ramps, the sleek suspension-style structure is designed for both cyclists and pedestrians, making it a key link between several regional cycling routes and nearby attractions.

The real show-stealer, however, is the bridge's viewing tower rising above the treetops. With platforms reaching more than 20 metres high, visitors are rewarded with broad views over the river valley and surrounding woodland. More than simply a way to get from one bank to another, the footbridge serves as a gateway to nearby lakes, forests and trails—and proves that occasionally even a bridge can be worth the detour.
