Located in the centre of town, the Church of the Holy Trinity is unsurprisingly Kościerzyna's most recognisable building. Composed entirely of red brick, its foundations are in the shape of the square Greek Cross, while its steeple can be seen from almost anywhere. When you visit, make sure to pay special attention to two separate sanctuaries within, namely the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sorrows and Chapel of Our Lady of Kościerska - Queen of Families. The former is a Gothic Pieta, a masterpiece from Pomeranian stone dating back to the fifteenth century, and the story of how it found its way to Kościerzyna from a Benedictine nuns' monastery in Chełmno is a fascinating one indeed. The latter chapel houses the miraculous image of Mary holding baby Jesus, which was made around 1610 by an unknown author and is a copy of Our Lady of the Snows in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggorie in Rome.
