Dozens of temporary restaurants, cafés and bars pop up in central Kassel during the 100 documenta days, catering to the thousands of hungry and thirsty visitors. Additionally, the restaurants from the shopping malls set up tents and terraces along the main drag; there's La Vision, Take Hallali Burger, Ya Sushi, Vanille & Co ice cream and kumpir (Turkish potato mash) by Tolle Knolle outside the Kö-Galerie mall; you'll find Avanti, Sule's Kö-Bar and a food truck at Florentiner Platz. At the southern end of Friedrichsplatz, Apel Catering's white tents make a good place for a pit-stop too.
