Nearly 600 years of tradition is behind Kassel’s Carnival, although honestly it feels as though it has flown by. Chortle, chortle, indeed. This is everything you want a German carnival to be, full of weird characters and a joyful atmosphere as colour and charm fill the air, complete with masses of food and booze. Can the mayor defend the key to the town hall, or will the evil spirits manage to wangle their way inside? We try to stay away from politics, so no comment from us. We’ll see you there.
