60 years of work (1953-2013) by Witold Pałka attempts to showcase cross-sectionally, from early works available in museums and private collections to the latest compositions. Although educated in Kraków and gaining many of his early influences in the city’s art community, he spent most of his life in Katowice, which influenced most of his work. It showed many parts of regional life, steeped in the brital and bland world of mining and industry. Witold also spent time in what is titled his “internal world”. These works usually contained one or more women captured in motionless deep thought. The final part of the exhibition displays activity which depicts concerts, shows, balls and where “strong colours”, movement, energy, and joy of life prevail.
