Magdalena Abakanowicz (1930–2017) was an internationally-acclaimed Polish sculptor and fibre artist. She was especially known for incorporating textiles into her work, so you can imagine why such an exhibit would just so happen to pop up in Łódź (basically Poland's textile capital). The exhibition presents a retrospective of her work, taking us along the journey of her artistic style, through experimenting with changes in form, line, layers and reliefs in structures. Included in the exhibition are the famous Abakans, malleable bronze sculptures that blend into their surrounding landscape; as well as a film screening depicting these sculptures "in action," so to speak—subjected to wind against a landscape of dunes.
