This huge animated neon was installed in 2021 atop the chimney of the former Henryk Wagner Weaving Equipment & Machine Factory on Tuwin Street. Created by artists Marcello Zamenhoff and Jessica Rossolini, it is 2.5 x 1.7 x 1m in size and simulates the bird flapping its wing in three animated phases. Why a seagull for a city so far from the sea? That is a valid question, and one we truly can't answer. But the highly visible bird has become beloved by locals and an icon of the city centre.
