Alois Carigiet (1902 – 1985), illustrator of the famous book Schellen-Ursli, was not only a gifted author and illustrator of children’s books, but also a highly versatile painter, graphic artist and stage designer. This exhibition is devoted to this creative man from the Grisons and illuminates the many facets of his work. The starting point is the Canton Grisons, Carigiet’s beloved mountain homeland. It's a world of children’s books, graphic art and painting, in other words, the world of Alois Carigiet. Kids and youngsters have the chance to solve riddles, stroke animal furs, and – like the original Schellen-Ursli – find out how much a cowbell really weighs. You can also watch the movie Schellen-Ursli by the Swiss director and Academy Award winner Xavier Koller.
