This is an off-the-beaten-track tip to cool off in peace, surrounded by the Zimmeregg forest on the outskirts of Lucerne. Zimmeregg facilities include an outdoor 50-metre-long, six-lane swimming pool and diving boards. For the little ones there's a kids' pool, an 86-metre waterslide or a new steeper, but shorter wave slide and a shady playground with a climbing tower. The on-site restaurant serves hot and cold snacks, the local speciality being whole grilled chickens (on weekends). You can rent swimming equipment, lockers, deckchairs and umbrellas. After you've cooled off in the water you can have a game of table tennis, beach volleyball or chess. Reachable by bus followed by a short walk through the forest.
