Kruševo

share

Reachable via a spellbinding drive through the mountains and situated at over 1,350 metres above sea level, Kruševo is the highest town in North Macedonia and is worth visiting for that reason alone. Steeped in revolutionary history and featuring several sights dedicated to the 1903 Ilinden Uprising and the short-lived Kruševo Republic that followed it, people flock to Kruševo all year round thanks to its unique architecture, great food, ski runs and the fact that it counts among one of the top locations in the world for paragliding. The birthplace of the late Balkan singing sensation Toše Proeski, a trip to North Macedonia without a visit to Kruševo is almost unthinkable.
