Miłosz Festival
This annual literary festival is named after Polish national treasure Czesław Miłosz - a poet, writer, literary critic and translator who was awarded the 1980 Nobel Prize in Literature, and is still hugely respected and cherished in PL and abroad. The very international festival unfolds over a series of meetings, conferences, debates, film screenings, translation workshops, poetry evenings, and concerts, and is a chance to meet and mingle with famous literary figures from Poland and abroad.

Miłosz Festival 2025

The theme of this year's festival is both the title of Czesław Miłosz's poetry volume published 25 years ago, and the poem that opens this publication: TO. The word is Polish is both simple and open to many meanings and translations depending on the context. In English it could be translated as 'this,' 'that' or 'it.' Events will take place at Potocki Palace, Villa Decius and the Ogniwo Cooperative, and participants will include Joelle Taylor (UK), Vladimir Durisic (Montenegro), Harry Josephine Giles (Scotland) and Penny Boxall (UK). Full programme available online.
