Gourmet Coastal Stays

20 Mar 2026

There are places you visit for the view and then there are places you remember for the taste.

Along the Croatian coast, from the rolling hills of Istria to the quiet stone streets of Korčula, a new kind of luxury experience unfolds. Here, the hotel is not just where you sleep, it is where you dine, discover, and truly understand the region. Each of these carefully selected properties offers more than comfort and design; they offer a culinary identity rooted in place, season, and craftsmanship.

Our journey begins in inland Istria at San Canzian Hotel & Residences, where heritage stone architecture blends seamlessly with contemporary elegance, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. At the heart of the property is Luciano, a refined celebration of Istrian culinary heritage. Led by chef Pave Klarić, the kitchen reinterprets local specialities from truffles and artisanal cheeses to exceptional olive oils  with creativity and precision. A strong farm-to-table philosophy and commitment to sustainability shape every menu, while an impressive wine cellar featuring over 600 labels highlights both indigenous Istrian varieties and renowned international selections.

Perched high above the marina with sweeping views of Rovinj’s Old Town, Cap Aureo at Grand Park Hotel Rovinj offers one of the most distinctive dining experiences. The restaurant’s philosophy is rooted in seasonality and micro-local sourcing, with menus inspired by the small regions of Istria from the coast and islands to the inland forests and hills. Wild herbs, freshly caught seafood, organic vegetables and artisanal products are transformed into imaginative tasting courses that reflect both the landscape and the moment in time.

Across the water on Lošinj, in the pine-fringed Čikat Bay, Boutique Hotel Alhambra offers Belle Époque charm infused with modern sophistication. Within its elegant setting, Alfred Keller showcases seasonal Adriatic ingredients through meticulous technique and artistic presentation — a dining experience that feels both timeless and innovative.

On the island of Pag, surrounded by vineyards and Mediterranean stone landscapes, Boškinac invites guests into a world of “island alchemy.” Here, lamb, Pag cheese, seafood and wild herbs are transformed into contemporary expressions of local tradition. Estate-produced wines, including the indigenous Gegić, and signature creations such as lamb’s butter make this a destination deeply connected to its terroir. With Pag holding the title of European Region of Gastronomy in 2026, the island’s culinary significance shines brighter than ever.

Further south, carved into the dramatic landscape of Dugi Otok, Villa Nai 3.3 offers architectural boldness and profound intimacy. Gastronomy here revolves around local heritage and exceptional olive oil produced on the estate itself. The experience is pure, seasonal and immersive — a celebration of the island’s rhythm and simplicity.

In the harbour town of Sutivan on Brač, Hotel Lemongarden radiates Mediterranean elegance. Its restaurant, led by chef Ante Udovičić, draws from the hotel’s own gardens and the freshest Adriatic seafood, crafting light, refined dishes that capture the essence of Dalmatian cuisine.

Finally, within the medieval walls of Korčula’s Old Town, Lešić Dimitri Palace combines historic ambience with contemporary luxury. Its acclaimed restaurant offers seasonal menus inspired by Dalmatian tradition, interpreted with modern technique and global nuance — an intimate dining experience set against centuries-old stone.
