Best Cafes in Seville

more than a year ago
We’re very clear about our love of cafes here at In Your Pocket ― they might just be our favourite part of travelling. It doesn’t get much better than a hot cup of coffee and a good book in endearing surroundings, especially early in the morning. Andalusia doesn’t really do early in the morning, but it certainly gets the coffee, book and surroundings portion of that right.

Virgin Coffee

Located just a short walk from the Palacio de las Dueñas, Virgin Coffee is another in a growing line of coffee-centric places in this most vibrant of cities. These people take coffee very seriously, although that isn’t by sacrificing the conviviality that is essential to any cafe worth its salt. This is a place for coffee veterans and newcomers a like, brought together by the need for caffeine and companionship.

Lalita

Fresh, delicious, friendly and comfortable. Lalita does the basics very well indeed and provides an all-round cafe experience in the process. The cakes are particularly tempting, so resist them if you can. This is arguably the best that Nervión has to offer, and isn’t far from the top of the tree when the entirety of Seville is the discussion point.

Torch Coffee Roasters

Smashing artisanal coffee, a prime spot next to the river and the Torre del Oro, and all the charm of a charm factory. What’s not to like? Torch Coffee Roasters sits confidently at the top table of cafes in Seville, a coffee joint that understands its beans and knows just what to do with them. The atmosphere is tailor-made for savouring the hot stuff in the cup in front of you, so head here with plenty of time to enjoy it.

La Cacharreria

This place is all sorts of adorable. Located just outside of the very centre of the city, La Cacharreria provides its loyal customers with refreshing drinks and some seriously Moorish desserts, not to mention some of the most exquisite coffee in town. Morning coffee, early breakfast, late brunch, this place ticks plenty of boxes.

La Jerónima

Absolutely adorable. If you get excellent craft beer, friendlier-than-friendly staff, refreshing coffee together and add the secret ingredient that is books all around, we’re going to come knocking with Euros in our hands. La Jerónima is a great little place that brings the worlds of books and beer together, the perfect spot for a little afternoon tranquillity or heated discussions about the state of modern Spanish literature. Brilliant.
