From mid-June to mid-September, St. Michael’s Fortress and Barone Fortress come alive with a rich lineup of performances that blend world-class talent with the city’s unique architectural soul. At the more intimate Barone Fortress, the season opens on June 20 with the atmospheric, genre-bending project Sono Coloro by The Fogsellers, followed on July 13 by the virtuosic Julian Lage Trio, featuring Jorge Roeder and Joey Baron—an essential date for lovers of contemporary jazz.
Up on St. Michael’s Fortress, the magic unfolds under the stars. The season begins with a heartfelt tribute on June 26, as the Šibenik Wind Orchestra celebrates the legacy of Arsen Dedić, setting the tone for a summer of emotional resonance and musical excellence. On July 8, funk master and Vulfpeck guitarist Cory Wong takes the stage with his irresistible blend of rhythm and joy, followed by Croatia’s famed LADO Ensemble on July 21, bringing folkloric dance and music to this dramatic setting.
August is where things truly ignite. The energetic SatchVai Band performs two back-to-back shows on August 1 and 2, infusing the fortress with rock-fusion fire. A few days later, electronic music royalty arrives with a DJ set from RÖYKSOPP at COLLAGE on August 5—an experience made for dancing under open skies. Glamorous and genre-defying, Róisín Murphy delivers a show-stopping performance on August 7, while Croatian rock legends Parni Valjak command the stage with back-to-back concerts on August 10 and 12.
The pulse continues with Kyoto Jazz Massive on August 13, blending electronic sophistication with global grooves. On August 14, it’s a double-bill of poetic intensity and indie rock power as Rundek & Ekipa join forces with PipsChips & Videoclips. The iconic Josipa Lisac follows on August 15 with her unmistakable voice and timeless artistry, while Goran Bare & Majke bring raw energy and blues-infused rock to close the main season on August 16.
As the summer winds down, St. Michael’s Fortress plays host to one final crescendo: SHIP Festival 2025, from September 11 to 14—a multi-day celebration of cutting-edge international and regional sounds.
