Museum of Natural Sciences

  Rr. Kavajës      +355 42 22 90 28     more than a year ago
Opened some seven decades ago and with very few signs of any attempt to ever modernise the place, this classic, post-communist, state-run museum promises to teach visitors more about contemporary Albania than it does about the 3,000 or so exhibits on display. If you do choose to drop by, expect ancient glass cabinets full of stuffed fish, reptiles, birds and mammals as well as coral and flora. A horror show of sorts, travellers with young children who’ve been naughty might like to think about bringing them here as punishment.

Hello, I wanted to underline the fact that this short text, in addition of not being accurate and up-to-date, could mislead potential visitors of the Museum, and therefore impact the good and honest work of many people working in this museum. The Museum is not located in Rr. Kavaja since at least 7 years. It is now located near the electrical market, and offer to the visitor a honest zoological collection as well as some very interesting facts regarding the communism period (old specimens offered by African communist republics, Soviet Union or China). Please, could you consider to offer proper advice to potential visitors by visiting the museum, and changing this text?

How come that the museum is closed on Saturday and Sunday? When are the people supposed to visit it? This is nonsense!
