Furniture is a funny thing. We don’t mean ‘funny haha’, obviously, more fascinating and intriguing. Sitzen 69 was first seen in 1969, an exhibition of furniture in the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts (MAK, today) that displayed chairs and the rest from Scandinavia, Italy, Germany and Austria. It was far from comprehensive though, and the exhibition has returned with unfinished business. Furniture has never been more discussed than it is today, making this a very topical exhibition.
