The annual American Film Festival is devoted to classic and contemporary works of independent American cinema. The festival showcases the latest works of established filmmakers, as well as rising stars, plus retrospectives of acclaimed actors and directors. Following the traditions of the Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival and many others held across the United States, getting your film into the festival is quite an honour, and monetary awards are given to competition winners in two segments: SPECTRUM and AMERICAN DOCS. For viewers, the AFF is a great opportunity to see European premieres, and get a sense of what American independent cinema has to offer beyond the highly commercial films on-screen at Polish multiplexes.

2024 represents the 15th edition of the American Film Festival, and will include retrospectives of Robert Altman and Dorothy Arzner, as well as highly anticipated films like Jesse Eisenberg's 'A Real Pain' - a story about two New York cousins and their journey to their Polish roots, much of which was filmed in Warsaw.

The festival will take place online from Nov. 5-17 via Nowy Horyzonty's VOD service.
