Ready to get into the Guinness Book of World Records? The Thanks Jimi Festival is a yearly guitar extravaganza where guitarists from Poland and beyond meet en masse to set (yet another) record in simultaneous guitar playing. The first record was set in 2006 with 1,581 participants and has since been beaten numerous times—most recently in 2023 when 7,967 guys and gals cranked out a massive rendition of Hendrix's 'Hey Joe.' To participate you need a guitar (ukelele, mandolin or other stringed instrument), you need to know the five chords of 'Hey Joe,' and you need to be on the Wrocław Market Square for the event. To find out all the details and to register, visit their website.

In addition to breaking records, however, the event has grown into an all-day music festival of various genres and musical styles, with free concerts split between two stages on the market square and additional events at Stary Klasztor and Centennial Hall.
