The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra under the leadership of Wynton Marsalis performs a broad repertoire ranging from original compositions and jazz pieces commissioned by Lincoln Center to unprecedented historical compositions and masterpieces by artists such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman and Charles Mingus. During their numerous concert tours, the musicians visited over three hundred cities on six continents, often accompanying symphonic orchestras, ballet ensembles, and numerous invited artists. Guest conductors included Benny Carter, John Lewis, Jimmy Heath, Chico O'Farrill, Ray Santos, Paquito D'Rivera, Jon Faddis, Robert Sadin, David Berger, Gerald Wilson and Loren Schoenberg.
