Karolina Szymanowska is a sculptor and installation artist who often uses in her art terms that accurately illustrate collective and individual psychological processes. Wave, loop, reflection, fixation, suppression, repetition are only some of the phenomena that the artist uses as a model for her works. These mechanisms symbolically refer to the relation of the subject with the outside, as well as the relations between the subjects taking place during social situations such as conformism or exclusion. The artist explores suffering as an experience that is often triggered by external stimuli but is eventually completely internalised.
