"Parergon - a piece of work that is supplementary to or a by-product of a larger work". Jan Berdyszak's artistic projects include graphic design, sculpture, installations, photography, and stage designs. His art is frequently analytical and academic. Many works concentrate on the issue of space, which the artist defined as "the original being, density, darkness, void, transparency and potentiality." Later in life, he focused on notions of sacrum, space-time continuum and infinity. His sculpture projects and stage designs frequently reflect on light, words, and movement. Professor Jan Berdyszak has changed the attitude towards the traditional artistic picture. By breaking down the borders between the inside and the outside, using a fragment instead of the whole, he has built a world of images subordinated to the rigours of the concept he was developing.
